Battery systems are critical infrastructure, expected to operate reliably for 15 to 25 years or more. The load-bearing components of these systems, especially battery racks and steel support frames, are constantly exposed to potential corrosion risks. These arise from environmental conditions, humidity, industrial pollutants, and chemical influences from the batteries themselves.
Special features
Our new PROTEC-COAT C5 meets the requirements of corrosivity category C5 according to ISO 12944-6. It is the ideal choice for applications with high humidity, coastal regions, and offshore environments. While the standard DIN EN IEC 62485-2:2019-04 does not explicitly require a C5 coating system, corrosion protection directly supports several of its fundamental objectives.
